The Right of Public Access – an important part for sustainability

The Right of Public Access grants you the freedom to explore the forests and gather their treasures, but it also comes with responsibility. Show respect for wildlife, the environment, other visitors, and landowners. Leave the place as beautiful as you found it, and tread lightly in all you do. Experience this place with care for both the present and the future, ensuring it continues to inspire for years to come.

The “Right of Public Access” is a unique privilege in Sweden that grants everyone the freedom to enjoy nature, regardless of land ownership. It allows you to hike, cycle, paddle, and camp in the wilderness, pick berries, mushrooms, and flowers, and swim in lakes and rivers. However, this freedom comes with responsibility—you must show respect for nature, wildlife, and landowners. This means not disturbing or destroying the environment and not littering. The “Right of Public Access” is a balance between freedom and responsibility and is an essential part of Swedish culture and outdoor life.
