Kalix has a well-developed infrastructure with good roads and high-speed fibre connections throughout most of the municipality. Walking and cycling paths link the town centre with many nearby villages, making it easy to get around even without a car. Public transport connects the villages with central Kalix and continues on to Luleå and Haparanda.
While not every village has its own bus service, families can rest assured that all children are entitled to school transport.
Most residents in Kalix Municipality are connected to the municipal water network, with exceptions in certain rural areas, such as around Korpikå. About 80 percent of residents are connected to the municipal sewage system, while the remaining households have individual systems.
