Five Highlights in the Töre District

Töre Archipelago and the Northernmost Point of the Baltic Sea

Part of the world’s second-largest brackish water body, the Töre Archipelago offers beautiful islands, beaches, and harbours. The Midsummer Sail Regatta begins at the southernmost point of the Baltic Sea and finishes in Töre each year at midsummer. In winter, the archipelago transforms into vast white expanses, perfect for skiing and snowmobile excursions.

Shops, Food, and Drink

Töre is home to several restaurants and cafés, a distillery that welcomes pre-booked visits, a grocery store, and local shops. In nearby Siknäs you’ll find a farm shop offering regional products, while both Siknäs and Sören are known for fishing and preparing the local delicacy – Kalix Löjrom, the world-famous vendace roe.

Museums and Historic Sites

Visit the Submarine Museum in Töre Harbour, Siknäs Fort, the Coastal Museum in Siknäs, and Hyttgården by the Töre River – each telling a different story of the region’s history.

Fattenborg – a Unique Bronze Age Site

This remarkable ancient site features burial mounds, stone formations, dwelling remains, and pathways dating back to the early Bronze Age, along with traces of Sámi hearths. Archaeological remains can also be found in Kosjärv.

Book the Baking Cottage

Gather friends and family to bake your own bread or traditional klådda, a soft flatbread from northern Sweden, in the community baking cottage. During the summer months (June–August), the summer café is open, offering local handicrafts and home-baked treats.
